In the last few years, Las Vegas has been a home to many different iconic landmarks. From the Luxor firing a beam of light directly into space, millions of people watching the Fountains at the Bellagio, and the Stratosphere looming high over the desert, almost every landmark is impeccable in its own way. However, the High Roller – Las Vegas Ferris Wheel has presented a strong challenge to the popularity of other landmarks in Las Vegas.
The High Roller was opened for the public in February, 2014. It is the tallest observation wheel in the world. It is 550 feet tall. This makes it 9 feet taller than the Singapore Flyer, which was the previous champion for the world’s tallest observation wheels. The High Roller is over 100 feet taller than the London Eye. Even in an unfinished state, the High Roller was able to dominate the Las Vegas Strip.
The High Roller features 28 observation cars. Each car can carry up to 40 passengers to get a mesmerizing, panoramic view of the entire Sin city. According to people who were amazed by the panoramic view, the only better way to enjoy the Las Vegas skyline is through a helicopter. The High Roller moves at around one foot per second speed. It can make a complete revolution in approximately 30 minutes.
Since the launch, the Higher Roller has been the focus of the Linq on the Las Vegas Strip. It is located between the Flamingo and the Quad. To be precise, it has been built on the site of O’Shea’s Casino. The High Roller will also feature a monorail stop, which will make it easier for visitors.
