On 31st December 2013, Caesars Entertainment opened up the first stage of the Linq Las Vegas Strip. The Linq is the first open air dining, entertainment and retail district on the Las Vegas Strip. It offers a choice between luxurious restaurants, 30 shops and many other venues anchored by the High Roller. The Linq’s High Roller will be the tallest observation wheel in the world.
The High Roller has already been able to change the overall Las Vegas skyline. However, there’s a lot more which makes the Linq a complete game changer. It is a pedestrian-friendly, outdoor area which will be blocked off to outside traffic, and lined up with lush green trees. It won’t even require tourists to wander through many miles of hungry slot machines.
Why is the Linq Las Vegas Strip Special?
According to attraction experts in Las Vegas, the Linq is going to be special for many different reasons. It not only offers one of the first outdoor spaces on the Las Vegas Strip with nightlife, shopping, dining and entertainment, you won’t have to pass through a casino to reach this place.
In the last few years, the downtown area in Las Vegas has been offering open air experiences. Not long ago, this was a foreign concept to this city. However, some new restaurants have been offering outdoor seating. Some hotels even encouraged guests to explore surrounding neighborhoods. Even open air festivals invited more visitors to check out various businesses.
While this idea was supposed to help visitors embrace this town, the Las Vegas Strip always kept guests indoors. But this is not the case anymore. Since the opening of the Linq Las Vegas Strip, many hotels have been responding to the outdoor trend. They have built outdoor malls and shopping centres, with retail and dining spaces. Here are some sights you can’t afford to miss at the Linq Las Vegas Strip.
Vintage Pedestrian Walkway – This is a 1,200 foot walkway running perpendicular to the Las Vegas Strip. It forms the primary thoroughfare of the Linq, and looks like a close city street. It includes many curbs, streetlights and roadside.
Brooklyn Bowl – According to developers, this Brooklyn-based hipster hangout will serve as the nexus between established strip entertainers and the Linq’s Generation X clientele.
Casino Connector – There’s no doubt that the Linq is an exquisite and brand new attraction. However, Caesars executives hope this development will benefit the nearby resorts. A walkway will be leading guests from the Carnaval Court Plaza through the Quad to the Linq.
The Vortex – This is the main entrance to the Linq. It looks like a fine piece of modern art. It has been anchored by a huge 7,000 square foot Vortex which changes color. The design resembles a tree flashing bright lights.
The High Roller – As mentioned earlier, the High Roller will be the largest observation wheel in the world. It will be 520 feet wide and 550 feet tall. The wheel has been built at the end of the Vintage pedestrian walkway. It will have 28 glass cabins offering exceptional views of the city. Each cabin will hold up to 40 people.
With so much to offer, the Linq Las Vegas Strip will definitely be a game changer, and offer a lot more to tourists.
