There is hardly any larger American city where street people or homelessness does not exist, Las Vegas included. It is not uncommon upon seeing these people to think of them as just “panhandlers” or “social outcasts.” It is also easy to avoid giving them a handout by rationalizing “they will just buy alcohol with the money.”
Here, this guy openly admits “why lie I need beer.” Ok, so we bought him a beer, but more importantly, what he and all the others really need is food and water. It’s hard to imagine that individually we can do anything to overcome this travesty. However, each one of us can help out a little by giving a little. Vegas Street Scene encourages you to give “a little which means a lot” to our street people and homeless. Think about this: If every visitor gave a quarter to these people, it would amount to over $7.5 million in a year — that is a lot of food and water!!! Since the average tourist spends $600 on gambling, a quarter can’t be asking too much can it? Yes, we give too. Nothing is too little. Please help them! Thank you!!!
